Become a
volunteer
*Would
you
like to get some work experience with the Fife Red Squirrel
Project? If so, please get in touch with Caroline (see Contact Us
page)! We are also keen to hear from University students who would like
to do research projects on red squirrels in Fife*
We are always looking for members of
the public, work experience
students, community groups, landowners and schools to get on board.
You can help the Fife Red Squirrel Project by getting involved in
various activities, including surveying and monitoring, educational
work, awareness raising or grey squirrel control.
For instance, you can “adopt a wood” near you and go for regular
squirrel spotting walks, then just send us your sightings.
Alternatively, you can monitor a transect, which will give us an idea
of changes in red squirrel populations over time.
All records feed into the local and national databases and comply with
the methodology recommended by the Scottish Squirrel Group.
There are also opportunities to help at events, with school visits and
our educational programme, and with localised, targeted grey squirrel
control work.
For further information on how to become a volunteer, please e-mail Caroline (see Contact Us page).
